Stayed here last weekend. It was absolutely fantastic. The room was great with a view of the river, the food was fantastic and the staff were amazing.
The location is perfect with planty of walks straight from the hotel and the staff are more than happy to help out with directions/maps.
Will definitely be staying here again.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay here last weekend. A true gem of a place - we fell in love with it straight away! The renovation is absolutely awesome. We loved how you've kept elements of the classic old Cumbrian pub (flagstone floors, wooden beams) but with thoughtfully done, beautiful modern updates.
It's a perfect location for a weekend of running in the fells and the food was magnificent fuel for our activities! The three-course meal was totally delicious, with fresh, locally sourced ingredients - mention must be made to the best pudding I've eaten out... ever! (Blood orange posset topped with Yorkshire rhubarb... phwoar!) And awesome hearty breakfasts perfect for big appetites!
Room was beautiful and very comfortable and a reasonable price for the Lakes.
And finally - huge shout out to the incredibly lovely staff (especially Emily and Rosina) who were friendly, attentive and hilarious and made our stay a joy. Thank you so much, we will be back!

No better place to stay for a gruelling weekend of walking. The staff, the food and the accommodation were outstanding. Just what we needed.

A mid-walk break for tea as we circumnavigated the lake. Very nice surroundings. I'd like to return for a stay, or just a meal next time I'm in the area.

Lovely hotel well-placed for fabulous walking from the door. Rooms are comfortable, and the public lounge is a cosy place to sit by the fire, play a game or chat to fellow guests. Highlight for me was the food - both breakfast and dinner are excellent quality and value, and they have an interesting wine list.

The best hotel for a break in the Lake District! The staff were so friendly, the food was amazing! The rooms and decor of the hotel made it feel so homely. 100% would recommend! We’re already planning our next trip back!
Food & drinks: The breakfast and dinner was some of the best food we had on our trip!

Was spot on for me location wise...Anne the manager had a great team of staff who looked after me. Parking was perfect as i carry a lot of gear....a couple of issues let it down on the room front, heating used to go off in the afternoon and when you get back cold and wet and its not much above freezing outside you want to dry your gear and warm up...the other issue i had was the walls/ceiling were paper thin so i was kept awake at night by the insomniacs above me...which was a shame as i am a bed early up early to catch the light...if it wasn't for those issues it would have been 5 stars all round.

Stylish, modern hotel that has been decorated with great attention to detail.
Large, comfy room with great bed and very comfortable mattress. Nice shower with good water pressure.
Amazing breakfast selection, eg really tasty porridge. What a nice change to the ubiquitous English breakfast (which I also love, but not every day).
Cosy bar with several small sitting rooms for a lovely quiet drink. Loved the quirky duck wallpaper with matching armchairs! :)

So having stumbled upon this little gem off the beaten track and what a find. Room was great, nice clean spacious and quite. Checking in and out easy as. Food was just splendid just what we expected and at a great value. The walks and views were just stunning and we got the peace and quiet we were looking for. The service staff were just great, they even had 2 kiwi's working and the Sisters were a delight. The 5 Star is well deserved, well done and keep up the good work. To the reader of this if you are thinking about a visit... just go
Rooms: Great comfortable spacious rooms, all the bits and pieces you could need to make the stay just that bit nicer
Walkability: Loads and loads of places to walk to and escape for the beginner ( us ) to the seasoned pro :-)
