Just beautiful and so comfortable and cosy. The owners were so kind and accommodating and the breakfast was delicious. Set in the most beautiful area with lots of lovely walks on the doorstep.

Needed a place to stay very last minute and we were so glad we found this beautiful guest house. Booked and checked-in within 2hours of booking. Lovely cozy rooms and environment. And lovely owners. Free big breakfast included and good quality wifi as well as great showers/bathroom facilities. Close to so many great walks and a great pub just a couple of meters from the doorstep (make sure to book for dinner and closed Mondays). Highly recommended! ☺️ And a special thanks to Suzanne for the kind welcome.

Perfect B&B for our short stay in the lakes. Breakfast was exactly what was needed to fuel our trip up Scafell and a lovely room to come back to. The guest living room was so cozy and we loved warming our aching bones by the fire (and drying off our soggy boots!). Fantastic dinner provided on a Monday night when restaurants are shut, thoroughly enjoyed every minute at Knotts View - Suzanne is the best host possible and we can't wait to come back!

Knotts View is a home away from home in the beautiful setting of The Lake District. The guesthouse is so cosy and quiet. Suzanne and her husband are amazing hosts - they gave us lots of tips for local walking routes and everything we need to have a cosy, comfortable stay. The pub across the road is nice for dinner, although a little expensive. However the breakfast that Suzanne makes is superb! We’ll definitely be returning when we next make a trip to The Lake District. Also, the wildlife from our bedroom window was amazing - lots of beautiful birds and red squirrels to stare at for hours!

Incredible. Perfect place to stay while walking the Cumbria Way. Breakfast was delicious. We got in quite late, and the host Suzanne was kind enough to make a lovely spread of sandwiches for us late at night. Everything was great. High, high, high recommendation. If I'm ever back in the Lake District, I plan to stay here again.

Amazing stay! Would highly recommend. Stayed here along the way of doing the coast to coast hike. The bed was super comfortable, the food was amazing and the hosts are super friendly!

A beautiful B&B in an idyllic spot. Suzanne was so welcoming and helpful. Family room was comfortable even if the floor is very wonky (it's a very old house)

This guest house was our second place to stay on our week's holiday to the Lakes and it was wonderful. I've always wanted to experience an old cottage and we were not disappointed. It was warm and cosy with beams and lots of little ornaments and some great photos plus you could buy copies of. The breakfasts were delicious and the coffee excellent. There are lots of walks around here as well as a river with many streams coming off the mountains feeding into it. We loved it and hope to return later.

Suzanne and John and their guest house were super welcoming - full of heart and warmth. We felt very comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious and we loved that the fire was always burning. We loved the location and the cottage itself, and you looked after us with such care. Very many thanks. Tips for other travellers We hadn’t quite clocked how perfectly located (with or without a car) Stonethwaite is if you like to be quiet and secluded and have access to umpteen walks in all directions from the door. We were very happy here. We made the most of breakfasts and mostly ate dinner in Keswick, though one night we had a basic but enjoyable meal at the YHA (always good to get talking to fellow travellers). As for the bnb itself, it’s charming - classic in all the right ways; clean, quiet and full of heart. If you want glossy en-suite and contemporary facilities, this place ain’t for you but if you believe in proper hospitality and home comforts it certainly is.
